Dr. Richard Isaacson was featured by CNN discussing new research identifying 17 modifiable risk factors that are shared by dementia, stroke, and late-life depression. The study reinforces the growing evidence that many aspects of brain health—including blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep, physical activity, diet, stress, and social engagement—can be improved through proactive lifestyle changes, helping to lower the risk of multiple age-related brain diseases.

Dr. Isaacson emphasized that presenting these risk factors together can help motivate people to take action:

“Grouping these all together is important, because I think different people derive different levels of motivation to make a behavior change based on their personal concerns, such as a family history of dementia, stroke or depression.”
